Our Latin instructor of many years, Andrew Phillips, is generously sponsoring a $300 scholarship for the winners of the Championship Latin event at BADC 2025. Andrew placed 4th in US Open Professional Latin in 2002. He was also a UK Open Rising Star Finalist and Blackpool Rising Star Finalist, and has consistently placed among the top 12 professional Latin couples at major world competitions. Our team’s long-time Standard instructors, Stanley and Jennifer McCalla, are generously sponsoring a $400 scholarship for the winners of the Championship Standard event at BADC 2025. Stanley and Jennifer held the US Amateur Standard, Latin, and 10-Dance titles, the last couple to have been so distinguished, and represented the US at four world championships. As professionals, they were Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Smooth Champions and Fred Astaire National Smooth Champions. We couldn’t be more grateful for their many years of guidance!

Didi von Deck began ballroom dancing while attending college, and then started competing while in medical school. With her first partner, she was a regular finalist in the US amateur open championships. She then danced professionally, winning the Eastern US Rising Star Championships. She regained amateur status to dance with Mark Sheldon. Mark and Didi won numerous competitions and were 5-time undefeated Senior US Champions and 3-time Blackpool Finalists in the Senior Division. They represented the US in 7 World Championships, both Open and Senior, and at the 2001 World Games. Didi’s love of dance attracted her to her current profession as an orthopaedic surgeon. Didi is also an Ashtanga yoga Feldenkrais®, and MIT ballroom dance team teacher/coach.

The Rutgers Ballroom and Latin Club is an undergraduate organization that is a social and competitive club that accepts members from all skill levels. It hosts the Rutgers Dancesport Competition each year!

The Eastern United States Dancesport Championships is one of the longest running competitions in the United States having run since 1968. EUSDC is one of the three original Championship events organized by the United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (USISTD).

Eastern has partnered with BADC to provide vouchers for some of our competitors.  We thank Eastern and hope to see our competitors there (this year in NJ!). 

A staple of the local dancesport scene since 1990, the Manhattan Amateur Classic is generously providing free registration vouchers to the winners of several events at BADC 2025!

MAC 2025 will take place on January 17-20 at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott in Newark, NJ. We encourage all of our competitors to attend!

DCDI is a yearly intercollegiate and adult open amateur DanceSport Festival competition that has many fun features. They are generously providing free registration vouchers to the first place winners of silver and newcomer at BADC 2025!
